Course structure and assessment routes
- AS: Paper 1 plus either Paper 3 or Paper 4.
- A Level: all four papers, together or in an eligible staged route. The AS and A Level routes are not interchangeable with Mathematics 9709.

- All questions are compulsory within the selected papers and externally assessed. AS grades a–e; A Level A*–E.
