You do not need an account. Tracked subjects, paper progress, syllabus ticks and your settings are saved in your browser the moment you make them.

If you never sign in, none of it leaves your device.

Sign in and the same progress is saved to your account, so it follows you to your phone, your laptop, and any other browser you use.

Signing in with Google gives us your name, email address and profile picture. Signing in with an email address gives us the address. We do not see your password either way.

Your progress is only ever visible to you.

When you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture. We use this information to identify your account, display your profile and connect your saved study progress to you.

Supabase provides sign-in and database storage for Markern. It processes your Google sign-in information and stores your account details and synced progress. Your browser also keeps a local copy of your profile, sign-in session and study progress.

We use Google account information only to provide these account features. We do not sell it, use it for advertising or AI training, or send it to Vercel Web Analytics. Supabase processes it to operate sign-in and account storage for Markern.

Markern and Supabase use HTTPS to protect data in transit. Your synced progress is associated with your signed-in account and is not published as a public profile.

We keep account details and synced progress so they remain available when you return. To delete them, email support@igcsefy.com from the address associated with your account. Signing out or clearing browser storage does not delete the account copy.

We use Vercel Web Analytics by default to see which pages, subjects and revision resources people visit, so we know what to work on next. It records page paths, referrers, approximate location, and device and browser details as aggregated statistics, without third-party cookies. Individual paper previews and downloads are not tracked by this feature.

You can turn analytics off below at any time. If you already turned it off, that choice stays in place.

It is not linked to your account, and we do not send it your name, email address, saved progress, or URL query strings.

Opening or downloading a paper is an ordinary web request, the same as loading an image.

A paper only becomes part of your progress when you mark it yourself.

Settings → Data & Privacy exports everything stored about you as a file you can keep, and resets your preferences to their defaults.

Clearing site data in your browser removes the copy held on your device immediately.

To delete your account and the progress saved to it, email support@igcsefy.com from the address you signed in with.

Most people using Markern are school age, and the site is built with that in mind: no advertising, no tracking across other websites, and no sale of personal data. The services described above process information needed to operate the site.

If you are a parent or guardian and want your child's account removed, email support@igcsefy.com and it will be deleted.
