Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level Mathematics (YMA01)
A modular International A Level combining pure mathematics with a permitted pair of applications units. It is separate from UK AS 8MA0 and A Level 9MA0.

Course structure and assessment routes
- IAS Mathematics XMA01: P1 + P2 plus one of M1, S1 or D1.
- IAL Mathematics YMA01: P1 + P2 + P3 + P4 plus one pair: M1 + S1, M1 + D1, M1 + M2, S1 + D1, or S1 + S2.
Main syllabus content
- Pure: algebra, functions, trigonometry, calculus, numerical methods, proof and vectors
- Mechanics: modelling, forces, motion, energy and collisions
- Statistics: data, probability, distributions and inference
- Decision mathematics: algorithms, graphs, critical paths and linear programming

Key assessment information
- Take three units for IAS or six for IAL, not every option listed. All are externally assessed; calculators are permitted and Mathematical Formulae and Statistical Tables are supplied.
- Maths and Further Maths awards must use distinct unit results: two full IAL awards require 12 different units. This is not the separate Pure Mathematics award YPM01.
